Position Overview
The Project Manager – Product Improvements is responsible for optimizing and ensuring the quality, delivery readiness and costs of the products at the SOCS, SOCC, SOCM and SOCV production sites.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the qualification of components of already launched products for purposes such as second source or supplier PCN (involved role: ISIR (initial sample inspection report) Owner) with focus on transducers and electrical components.
- Lead, manage and support product improvement and product change projects according to PCN and PLE (SOP-121) processes. Release products after changes.
- Support development and continuous improvement of PCN and PLE processes.
- Responsibility for timely deployment of the respective product change and product improvement actions to avoid negative impact on manufacturing and product supply chain.
- Execute and document product changes according to Change Control process (SOP-70).
- Lead projects to optimize manufacturing quality, cost, delivery and yield in the production of hearing aids and accessories through continuous improvement of procedures, manufacturing processes and products.
- Implementation of the planned measures and changes, taking into account the entire supply chain (inventory, logistics flow, etc.).
More about you:
- Degree in Materials Science, (Micro-)Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Familiar with lean and change management, and working with international production sites (VN/CN/MX).
- Strong initiative, problem-solving mindset, and structured working style.
- High resilience, adaptability, and motivation.
- Analytical, conceptual thinker with practical creativity.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and intercultural skills.
- Leadership ability in prioritizing, decision-making, and team motivation.
- Proficiency in electronics development/manufacturing, supply chain, and production processes.
- Proficient in MS Office 365, SAP, and MS Teams.
- A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.
