Job summary

CIMA+ in Vancouver is seeking a Project Manager with hands-on PLC/SCADA expertise to lead automation and IT/OT projects across municipal water, utilities, and industrial facilities.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and scope, build proposals with a multidisciplinary team, and mentor automation professionals while collaborating with IT/network colleagues to address cybersecurity needs. This hybrid role offers growth and ownership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
• P.Eng designation or eligibility is an asset
• 10+ years’ progressive hands-on PLC and SCADA programming experience
• 5+ years of management experience
• Demonstrated project management experience is an asset
• Understanding design documentation and drawings for owners to procure contractors
• Able to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously
• Hands-on PLC/DCS programming for Rockwell, Emerson RX3i, etc.
• HMI/SCADA experience with AVEVA InTouch, iFIX, Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk is an asset

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage automation, controls, and IT/OT projects including budget, schedule, and scope
• Develop proposals with a multidisciplinary team and support business development
• Build and mentor a team of automation professionals including system integrators and I&C designers
• Provide technical direction to your team and clients
• Work with network professionals to support IT/OT services including cybersecurity
• Collaborate with process, electrical, and mechanical engineers on large scale upgrades
• Directly manage local client base and respond to client needs
• Cross-sell other services outside of automation
• Support capital upgrades and maintenance services
• Forecast labour with your manager for ongoing projects and hiring needs
• Respond to RFPs and tenders with cost estimates and proposals

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively manage all elements ofautomation,controls, and IT/OTprojects including budget, schedule,and scope to deliver for our clients
• Developproposals with a multidiscipline team and support business development activities
• Build and mentor a team of automation professionals consisting ofsystem integrators and I&C designers.Train new hires to support various PLC and SCADA platforms.Support their growth byidentifyingtraining planneeds and the opportunities to enhance their skillsets
• Provide technical direction to your team and others assigned to your projects to deliver theneeds of the client
• Work with our network professionals tosupport your client base with IT/OT services including cybersecurity
• Work within a multi-discipline environment supporting process engineers, electrical engineers,andmechanical engineers to deliver large scale upgrades to our clients
• Directly manage your local client base to stay in tune with client needsand respond to their needs
• Cross sell other services outside of automation to your client base
• Support the local client base through the delivery of capital upgrades as well as maintenance services
• Support your manager with labour forecastingto deliver ongoing projects and future hiring needs
• Respond to requests for proposals and tenders through the development of cost estimates and proposals
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study such as Engineering or Computer Scienceor3 yearcollege levelelectricaltechnologyprogram, or Automation program
• License to practice Engineering inBritish Columbia(P.Engdesignation or eligibility)isconsidered an asset
• 10years’ progressive hands on experience programming PLCs and SCADA systems is required.
• 5 + years Management experience on top of the hands on experience
• Demonstratedpreviousproject management experience is an asset
• Understanding the design documentation process and howengineered drawings and specifications go hand in hand for owners toprocurecontractors isrequired
• Able to manage multiple projectsand clientssimultaneously
• Ahandsonbackground in PLC/DCSprogrammingfor various vendors such as Rockwell, Emmerson (RX3i) isan asset.
• HMI/SCADA experiencewith various platforms such as AVEVA (InTouch or System Platform), iFIX, Ignition, and Rockwell FactoryTalkisan asset.
