Job summary

City of Toronto is seeking a Project Manager in the Capital Planning & Implementation division to oversee wastewater and sanitary/sewer rehabilitation projects. You will manage scope, schedule, budget and quality across multiple contracts with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires a strong background in civil engineering, excellent communication skills and ability to lead diverse project teams. A valid driver’s license and municipal project experience are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Ontario Class G Driver's License and daily access to a vehicle.
• Extensive project management experience in municipal infrastructure.
• Experience applying engineering principles to municipal infrastructure.
• Strong communication at all organizational levels and with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
• PMI PMP or P.Eng. would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of projects from inception to completion.
• Develops project cost estimates, funding forecasting, schedule, scope requirements/changes, terms of reference and change management.
• Controls project schedule and expenditures within approved budgets.
• Oversees contractors, consultants and technical staff; ensures quality and compliance.
• Prepares budgets, reports, plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Leads project teams and coordinates with planners, contractors and external service providers.
• Represents the division with councillors and external parties; participates in hearings and arbitrations.
