Job summary

JobsMedia.io is seeking a Project Director to lead planning, execution and delivery of large-scale mining projects in Montreal. You will coordinate design, procurement, construction and commissioning while ensuring timelines, budgets and safety standards.

You will liaise between engineering teams, stakeholders and external partners, drive risk management and provide clear progress reporting. A civil or mining engineering degree and 10+ years of PM experience in mining are required; OIQ

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or mining engineering required.
• 10+ years of project management experience, ideally in mining.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects (budget, schedule, multidisciplinary teams).
• Knowledge of mining sector standards (Directive 19, etc.).
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of a mining project (design, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure on-time delivery and specs.

You will act as a central point of contact between engineering and construction teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and the highest quality and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of a mining project (design, procurement, construction, commissioning)
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed specifications
• Liaise with civil and mining engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
• Produce clear progress reports for management and stakeholders stakeholders
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

Desired Profile

• Degree in civil or mining engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, ideally in the mining sector
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects (budget, schedule, multidisciplinary teams)
• Good knowledge of applicable mining sector standards (Directive 19, etc.)
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills
• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) — an asset
• Bilingualism (French/English) — an asset, depending on project needs
