Job summary

Jobtailor in Canada is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead nuclear EPC programs, driving cost and schedule adherence while managing risk and coordinating with IPD stakeholders to deliver scope safely and on budget.

The role requires 5–10 years in nuclear/project management, a relevant engineering or construction degree, PMI knowledge, and strong leadership with Primavera P6 proficiency. On-site work in Durham Region's Bowmanville area.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of related experience in nuclear EPC projects.
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration capabilities.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and risk-driven project controls.
  • PMI Certification or equivalent project management knowledge.

  • Lead project teams to achieve cost and schedule targets.
  • Identify threats/opportunities and escalate appropriately.
  • Coordinate with IPD stakeholders and client on changes.
  • Provide regular progress updates and manage risk.

Job description

  • Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external and IPD facing interactions.
  • Create the context that promotes the values of Courage, Transparency and Accountability on the project
  • Ensure the delivery of all its scope in accordance with safety standards, on time, on budget and compliance with the Contract.
  • Provide regular and accurate progress updates to the Sr. Project Manager, Area Lead and the client for reporting purposes.
  • The Project Manager is accountable for the cost & schedule adherence and management of threats and opportunities, including timely escalation.
  • Early identification of any threats to Project schedule or cost profile, or quality issues.
  • Constantly monitor for schedule and cost reduction opportunities across his scope of works.
  • In particular, the Project Manager should be continuously looking for more efficient methods to complete work.
  • Work collaboratively with the IPD stakeholders to ensure the Project requirements are met and represents the most efficient methods to deliver its Scope.
  • Driving compensatory actions related to adverse quality trends during the project
  • As a Leader, participate in regular meetings and provides advice and support to the other members
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register. Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for the identification, mitigation and management of related risk items for his/her scopes.
  • Interfacing with the Client on requests for contract changes in close collaboration with the support team.
  • Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
  • Ensure support and technical assistance are deployed to the Construction team during the construction phase on Site.
  • Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to IPD team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy.
Requirements
  • 5 - 10 years of related experience, ideally in Mechanical in nuclear environment
  • Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post-Secondary Degree.

  • Claims Avoidance and/or Claims Negotiation Experience.
  • Leadership Experience in High-Performing Teams.
  • Primavera P6 Knowledge
