(BCRTC), maintains and operates the Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines from central facilities in south Burnaby, connecting downtown Vancouver to Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Surrey. Responsibilities

Plans, manages, executes, and controls one or multiple fleet projects for the BCRTC Rail Division; ensures successful delivery according to enterprise engineering project management standards, governance, and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
  • Plans, manages, executes, and controls all aspects of assigned fleet capital projects with larger scope, risk, impact, and sensitivity.
  • Leads strategic planning, including defining scope, creating business justifications, establishing objectives, budget, resources, stakeholders, schedule, and review plan.
  • Manages and monitors projects throughout implementation, including execution, documentation, progress monitoring, financial status, and proactive change management.
  • Prepares contracts, RFPs, and tender documents with terms, scope, technical requirements, and schedule constraints.
  • Presents and reports project progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and metrics to senior leadership, providing risk‑management recommendations.
  • Manages cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution.
  • Provides expert advice on engineering project management standards, governance, and procedures to improve enterprise practices.
  • Provides technical guidance to Project Managers, Coordinators, and other assigned resources.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering and/or Business.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Seven (7) years of engineering project management experience with emphasis on light and/or heavy rail fleet projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of project and contract management principles, theories, concepts, and practices.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills for critical and high‑impact issues.
  • Advanced time‑management and organizational skills for multiple concurrent activities.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid technical skills in business and project management computer applications and databases.
Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation

Resident – works predominantly on site.

Rate of Pay

Salary ranges from $100,080 to $150,120 per annum. The actual salary offered depends on education, experience, skills, and qualifications. The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass, and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan, plus other employment offerings, which will be discussed throughout the application process.
