Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Project Manager for First Nation Agreements, based in Burnaby or Vancouver, BC, to drive drafting, review, and execution of mitigation measures for NCTL agreements. The role oversees workstreams, coordinates stakeholders, and maintains momentum toward milestones.

The candidate will have a minimum of five years of PM experience, ability to manage complex documentation, and strong communication skills suitable for hybrid environments with occasional BC

Role: Project Manager - First Nation Agreements
Location: Burnaby, BC or Vancouver, BC
Contract Duration: October 5, 2026 - April 2, 2027
Max T4 Rate: $59.16/
Max INC Rate: $69.81/

General Description

Working under the direction of the Environment Manager or delegate for NCTL, the Project Manager 1 will coordinate and drive the drafting, review, and execution of mitigation measures for agreements with First Nations for NCTL Phases 1 and 2. The role is expected to take ownership of assigned workstreams, proactively coordinate stakeholders, subject matter experts, advance action items, and maintain momentum toward key milestones.

Experience and Role Accountabilities

• A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.
• Plan, direct, and report on infrastructure and other construction project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
• Develop project plans and risk management plans for low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost that is generally up to $20 million for effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety by using project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
• Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill BC Hydro’s business needs.
• Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders including customers, engineers and field crews through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.

Education and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline
• Bachelor’s degree Engineering, an asset
• Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation, preferred
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
• Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Must Have

• Experience in a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar project support role.
• Exceptional organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Experience reviewing, interpreting, and working with contract language and complex documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting environmental agreements, mitigation programs, or related project work.
• Experience within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or large capital project environments.
• Previous experience supporting high-consequence projects requiring strong governance, tracking, and follow-up.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and attend BC Hydro offices when required.
