Job summary

Artemis Gold Inc. seeks an experienced leader to direct civil earthworks at the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia. The role involves supervising large teams, coordinating safety, and ensuring the project stays on schedule and within scope.

Two weeks on, two weeks off rotation is expected. You will work with engineers, surveyors and construction specialists to deliver critical earthworks safely and efficiently, with strong emphasis on leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large teams in civil earthworks, mining, Tailings Storage Facility or earth dam construction
• Proven leadership skills with safety, efficiency, and productivity being paramount
• Technical skills: must be able to interpret plans, drawings, maps
• Good knowledge and understanding in heavy equipment capabilities and limitations
• Time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven dedication to seeing projects through to completion

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Managing, coordinating and scheduling daily earthworks construction activities such as road building, access, laydown yards, and dam/berm work.
• Supervision of equipment operators (rock trucks, water trucks, packers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders).
• Coordinate and utilize onsite resources to deliver the project schedule safely, productively and on time.
• Delegate tasks to teams and partners; collaborate with engineers, surveyors and construction specialists.
• Support employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintain records.
• May require clean-shaven appearance to ensure PPE effectiveness.

Overview

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Managing, coordinating and scheduling daily earthworks construction activities, such as:
  • building of roads, accesses, and laydown yards
  • stripping and developing borrowing areas building and compacting of dams and berms
  • installing culverts, french drains and ponds
  • snow removal
  • road maintenance
• Supervision of equipment operators who run the following equipment: rock trucks, water trucks, packers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders.
• Effective coordination and utilization of onsite resources to deliver the project schedule safely, productively and on time.
• The ability to delegate tasks to teams and business partners.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with engineers, surveyors, and other construction specialists.
• Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.
• May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
