Job summary

Artemis Gold - Blackwater Project seeks an experienced construction leader to supervise earthworks teams at the Blackwater mine site in British Columbia. You will oversee roads, laydown areas, dams, drains, and earthworks activities, ensuring safety and adherence to the project schedule.

• 10+ years leading large teams in civil earthworks/mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise earthworks construction activities at the Blackwater site, including roads, laydown areas, dams and drainage works.
• Coordinate and schedule daily earthworks operations to meet the project timeline and safety standards.
• Oversee equipment operators and ensure safe, productive use of rock trucks, excavators, dozers, loaders and other heavy machinery.
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors and other construction specialists to optimize task execution.
• Support employee development and maintain appropriate records as part of the development pathway.
• Ensure PPE compliance and a clean-shaven policy where required.

Overview

Artemis Gold is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. The Company's current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. Location: Blackwater Mine Site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Managing, coordinating and scheduling daily earthworks construction activities, such as:
  • building of roads, accesses, and laydown yards
  • stripping and developing borrowing areas building and compacting of dams and berms
  • installing culverts, french drains and ponds
  • snow removal
  • road maintenance
• Supervision of equipment operators who run the following equipment: rock trucks, water trucks, packers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders.
• Effective coordination and utilization of onsite resources to deliver the project schedule safely, productively and on time.
• The ability to delegate tasks to teams and business partners.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with engineers, surveyors, and other construction specialists.

• Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.

• May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large teams in civil earthworks, mining, Tailings Storage Facility or earth dam construction
• Proven leadership skills with safety, efficiency, and productivity being paramount
• Technical skills: must be able to interpret plans, drawings, maps
• Good knowledge and understanding in heavy equipment capabilities and limitations
• Time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven dedication to seeing projects through to completion
