Job summary

CANA Construction in Calgary seeks an experienced Project Manager to provide overall direction of assigned projects, covering costs, schedule and quality assurance. This role includes subcontract negotiations and liaison with owners, engineers, and sub-trades, while managing the technical and financial aspects of the contract.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a Diploma in Architectural Technology, with 5+ years of progressive construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or Diploma in Architectural Technology (Equivalencies will be considered).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry as a Sr. Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction of assigned projects and responsibility for performance including costs, schedule and quality assurance.
• Negotiate subcontract terms and manage relationships with owners, engineers, and sub-trades.
• Oversee financial and technical aspects of contracts; project reporting and governance.
• Represent CANA with consultants and Owners, promoting efficiency, quality and professional conduct.

The Role

This position is responsible forproviding overall direction of assigned projects and responsibility for theoverall project performance including costs, schedule and quality assurance.This position involves subcontract negotiations, liaison with owners,engineers, and sub-trades, and management of the technical and financial aspectsof the contract. You will be the front-line CANA contact with consultants andthe Owner and will be responsible for promoting and projecting the CANA imageof efficiency, quality, and technical competence and fair management of tradesand suppliers.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’sdegree in Engineering or Construction Management or Diploma in ArchitecturalTechnology. (Equivalencies will be considered)
• 5+years of progressive experience in the construction industry as a Sr. ProjectCoordinator or Project Manager with progressive responsibility in the size andscope of projects.
