Job summary

CANA Group of Companies is seeking a Skilled Labourer/Operator to join its Alberta teams. The role involves daily commuting to job sites, performing physically demanding outdoor work in varied weather, and contributing to safety and efficiency on projects around Edmonton.

The successful candidate will have ticketed equipment experience (Zoomboom/Rough Terrain Forklift/Skidsteer), a valid driver’s license, and a solid grasp of OH&S regulations.

Qualifications

• Ticketed experience with project equipment (Zoomboom, rough terrain forklift, and skidsteer).
• Valid Driver's License or means of transportation to project sites.
• Good understanding of OH&S regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with housekeeping duties and material management on site.
• Operate the listed equipment safely when trained.
• Complete daily inspections and routine maintenance as required.
• Report maintenance concerns or issues to the Supervisor.
• When workload requires, perform Labourer duties as needed.

JOB INFO

The Skilled Labourer/Operator is expected to be engaged in our safety program, execute work in a safe manner, and follow CANA policies and all applicable regulations.

• The work requires commuting to and from the job site daily
• The position requires physically demanding motions and tasks
• Candidates are required to be in good physical condition, fit for work and prepared to work on project sites outside in all seasons and weather

Assist Project Site With

• Housekeeping duties and material management
• Ability to use power stools an asset
• General construction safety knowledge

As An Operator

• Understand and execute the safe loading and unloading of various materials and equipment.
• Understand and execute safe rigging practices.
• Complete any Daily inspections and routine mtc as required, to be performed in accordance with CANA Policy and equipment instructions, including fueling the equipment.
• Advise Supervisor of any maintenance concerns or issues.
• Operate the equipment in a safe manner, within the guidelines and limitations of the equipment.
• Assist with the completion of any incident reports, relating to the equipment.
• When required, due to workload, engage in the responsibilities of a Labourer.

YOU WILL

To Be Successful In The Role

• Ticketed experience and competent with the operation of relevant project equipment specifically Zoomboom/Rough Terrain Forklift and Skidsteer.
• Mechanical competency is an asset.
• Gas propane and glycol heat competency an asset.
• Rigging Experience is an asset.
• Valid Driver’s License or means of transportation to project sites.
• Have a good understanding and/or ability to find information as needed in the OH&S regulations.
