Job summary

WSP in Red Deer is seeking a Project Manager to lead municipal engineering and land development initiatives in Central Alberta. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage design through to construction, and help shape infrastructure for growing communities.

The role requires a P.Eng. or equivalent in Alberta, 5+ years delivering municipal projects, and a collaborative approach to client relationships with public-sector partners.

Qualifications

  • P.Eng. or Professional Licensee in Alberta registered.
  • Approximately 5+ years delivering municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in watermain, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway design.
  • Strong understanding of construction administration and municipal delivery.
  • Knowledge of Alberta environmental standards and approvals.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to engage with municipal clients.
  • Collaborative mindset and passion for improving communities through infrastructure.

  • Deliver municipal engineering and land development projects across Central Alberta.

As a Project Manager , you will lead meaningful municipal projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver solutions that make a lasting difference.

Your Impact
  • Deliver municipal engineering and land development projects that strengthen communities and enhance infrastructure resilience across Central Alberta.
  • Manage the planning, design, and execution of water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway systems from concept through construction.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships with municipalities and public‑sector partners.
  • Mentor and support emerging professionals, contributing to the growth of future municipal engineering talent.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, risk, and communications to ensure successful delivery.
  • Contribute to proposals and bids that help secure impactful municipal projects in the region.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Licensee in Engineering (P.L.(Eng.)) designation registered in Alberta.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in watermain, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway design.
  • Strong understanding of construction administration and municipal project delivery processes.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta environmental standards, regulations, and approval processes.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to engage with municipal clients throughout Central Alberta.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 – $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
