Job summary

WSP Canada in Canmore invites experienced project engineers or civil technologists to join a team delivering municipal, civil land development, and transportation projects in the Canadian Rockies.

You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to shape infrastructure that supports thriving communities, from concept through construction, with a focus on water, wastewater, drainage, roadways, and site servicing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technologist Diploma and eligible for professional registration (APEGA/ASET).
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in municipal infrastructure and land development design.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D and AutoCAD; strong MS Office and Bluebeam skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway infrastructure, and site servicing projects from concept through construction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to create innovative land development solutions.
  • Lead and support engineering activities to meet client expectations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and coordinate technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Engage and communicate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders for smooth execution.

A unique opportunity to live and work in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Based in downtown Canmore-complete with mountain views and just 20 minutes from the iconic Banff National Park-you'll join a team delivering award-winning Municipal, Civil Land Development, and Transportation projects.

As a Project Engineer or Civil Technologist, you'll collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to shape infrastructure that supports thriving communities.

Your Impact
  • Design and deliver municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway infrastructure, and site servicing projects from concept through construction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to create innovative solutions for land development and municipal engineering challenges.
  • Lead and support engineering activities, ensuring projects meet client expectations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and coordinate technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates that influence project success.
  • Engage and communicate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil Technologist Diploma, with eligibility for APEGA or ASET registration.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure and land development design (all levels encouraged to apply).
  • Proficiency in Civil3D and AutoCAD, plus strong skills in MS Office and Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with local construction specifications, materials, and processes.
  • A valid driver's license and readiness to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $89,800 - $118,900

MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
