We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager for the Ottawa, ON area!

The Project Manager’s mission is to manage budgets, schedules, and collaborate with foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver successful projects. They focus on financial goals and support project teams in completing projects within planning parameters.

The role includes duties such as managing budgets, labor, purchasing, administration, cost control, coordination, communication, scheduling, pricing change orders, financial management, and client relationships. Project Managers act as project leads, communicating directly with General Contractors and owners, promoting Modern Niagara’s services throughout the building lifecycle.

  • Build budgets, procure equipment and subcontractors, and manage billing and collections aligned with KPI targets.
  • Participate in estimating, preconstruction, and post-construction meetings.
  • Complete financial forecasts and project status reviews.
  • Attend client and construction meetings, disseminate information to teams.
  • Manage equipment and systems commissioning.
  • Contribute to pre-construction planning and scope review.
  • Maintain safety standards on all projects.
  • Prepare and update work in progress (WIP) forecasts.
  • Attend site progress walks and monitor construction status.
  • Create purchase orders and review labor budgets with Foremen.
  • Coordinate labor plans and financial reviews with Foremen.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in construction.
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and documents.
  • Ability to oversee project lifecycles from planning to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
  • Strong project planning and management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
  • Understanding of construction processes and basic accounting principles (asset).
  • Ability to work in office and field environments with diverse teams.
