Job Summary:
This Project Manager role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience leading complex IT system modernization projects. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, including experience with various software platforms (Java, .Net, Informatica, Oracle, Power BI, etc.), business intelligence tools (Microsoft BI Suite preferred), and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). The role involves stakeholder management at the executive level, requirement gathering, risk analysis, and the development of project plans and documentation. A hybrid work model is required, with three days per week in the office and two days remote. Location: Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities: - Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data-driven solutions.
- Modernize large, complex, multi-platform, multi-tier IT systems.
- Conduct detailed reviews of technical solutions across various software platforms.
- Facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project finances, burn rates, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain project documentation (Business Case, Processes, Charter, Integrated Project Plan, Migration plans, Schedules, project kick off materials, roadmaps etc.).
- Perform Threat Risk Analysis and Privacy Impact Analysis.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and report status at the executive level.
- Work closely with business and development teams to create proofs of concept and prototypes.
- Introduce best practices and templates for software development projects.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently using dedicated and shared resources.
- Ensure AODA compliance.
Required Skills & Certifications: - 10+ years of experience in IT project management.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and planning for the modernization of large, complex multi-platform, multitier information technology systems.
- Experience conducting detailed review of technical solutions on a variety of software platforms (e.g., Java, .Net, Informatica, Oracle, Power BI, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with analytics or business intelligence tools and leading BI (Microsoft BI Suite technology preferred) projects with data-driven decision making.
- Experience leading the planning, coaching, communication and execution of actions that lead toward delivery and adoption of data-driven solutions.
- Proven experience using a variety of methodologies to carry-out the software development lifecycle (e.g., Agile, waterfall, hybrid).
- Experience working closely with business teams and development team to generate proof of concepts and prototypes with new and proven technologies.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and Planview.
- Experience with JAD facilitation.
- Experience with requirement management, quality assurance, and change management processes and tools.
- Previous public sector experience in an organization of equivalent size or complexity to Ontario Public Service.
Special Considerations: - Hybrid work model required: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
