About the Role:
Lambda Learning is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented LMS Project Manager to lead the delivery of Moodle and Totara upgrade projects and oversee support operations. This role involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with expectations. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, fully remote environment and bring experience in project coordination, technical support, and optimizing internal tools like Jira to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Lead the full lifecycle of LMS projects, with a strong focus on Moodle and Totara upgrades—from initiation through planning, execution, and closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Account Managers, Implementation Specialists, System Operations, and Product Owners to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Gather and document technical and functional requirements; translate them into clear deliverables and timelines.
- Coordinate QA and testing phases, ensuring all functionality is verified prior to release.
- Manage communications with clients and internal teams to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Identify project risks and blockers early, and work with relevant teams to define and implement mitigation plans.
- Lead Go/No-Go readiness assessments and facilitate decisions with all key stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed project documentation including meeting notes, action items, and status reports.
- Ensure post-deployment support and a structured handoff to the support team.
- Promote and apply Agile project management principles and continuously improve delivery workflows.
Support Operations
- Respond to “how-to” questions with clarity and empathy, translating technical steps into user-friendly instructions.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of core Moodle functionality, including course navigation, activity participation, messaging, gradebook viewing, and user settings.
- Anticipate common user challenges and guide them through multi-step processes.
- Suggest best practices and alternative solutions based on user needs and system capabilities.
- Maintain calm, professional communication—especially with frustrated or non-technical users.
- Create and update concise internal documentation and knowledge base content.
- Prioritize inquiries effectively and ensure timely follow-up across open cases.

Jira Administration & Process Optimization- Participate in Jira's projects administration used by support and delivery teams, including managing workflows, custom fields, automations, and dashboards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Jira configurations align with evolving team needs.
- Continuously evaluate and refine Jira structure to support efficient task tracking, reporting, and cross-team collaboration.
Requirements- 2-5 years of experience managing projects in an LMS environment, preferably Moodle or Totara.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex steps.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in a fully remote setup.
- Strong working knowledge of Moodle/Totara user-facing features.
- Experience with Jira administration and process optimization.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be available during core East Coast business hours.
- PMP or Agile certification is a plus.
