This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact with clients and ensure project goals are met with respect to scope, quality, safety, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring consistent progress and timely updates.
  • Oversee procurement activities, working closely with the purchasing team to source materials and hardware at the best value.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and manage change orders, scope adjustments, and delays as needed.
  • Monitor job costing metrics such as budget, hours, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols (e.g., ISO 18001, OSHA), and environmental regulations (e.g., ISO 14001).

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, contractors, and trades.
  • Maintain a professional and solution-focused approach in all client and team interactions.
  • Understand contractual obligations and ensure the team adheres to project terms and conditions.
  • Prepare timely documentation related to project changes, delays, and extras.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation for effective project execution.
  • Promote productivity, recognize top-performing team members, and address unproductive behavior.
  • Lead project teams with strong communication, direction, and motivation.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Professional Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
  • 6–10 years of experience in the construction industry, with exposure to estimating, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects and multiple concurrent deliverables.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is an asset.
  • Gold Seal Certification (CCA) is an asset.
  • Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
