Position Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager is the main generator of revenue for the branch. This position’s primary responsibility is to manage and oversee all emergency and restoration related services provided by Belfor Property Restoration. The Project Manager attends job sites to assess damage and provide data to create estimates. The role involves providing technical explanations and feedback to clients, adjusters, and consultants. Additionally, the Project Manager strengthens relationships with existing and potential customers through business development and account management activities, including industry events or customer entertainment, within company guidelines. This position is a key point of contact in the field, communicating professionally with customers, subcontractors, consultants, and insurance representatives.
Job Duties
- Create, review, and edit estimates according to Belfor estimating standards, insurance compliance, and service level agreements (SLAs), including accurate floor plans in Xactimate sketch.
- Work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Ensure all protocols related to insurance, legislation, or division-specific requirements are followed.
- Upload, monitor, revise, and update estimates and notes in internal and external systems.
- Secure work authorizations and deposits to commence projects, following office policies and protocols.
- Manage projects across residential, marine (if applicable), commercial, and industrial sectors.
- Oversee high-risk, high-exposure, and complex projects.
- Ensure scope of work adherence to meet timelines and budgets.
- Attend site meetings to facilitate communication between customers, subcontractors, consultants, and insurance representatives.
- Communicate professionally with all stakeholders, scheduling appointments and providing technical explanations.
- Coordinate field duties, job starts, and schedules with personnel and subcontractors.
- Provide feedback and guidance to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure permits are obtained and meet with inspectors as required.
- Coordinate and attend after-hours emergency jobs.
- Work with the Safety Coordinator to ensure safety protocols are incorporated into quotes and proposals.
- Review and approve project invoices for payment.
- Obtain and upload certificates of completion and submit invoices accordingly.
- Participate in collection efforts for outstanding accounts.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain attention to detail and safeguard property and information.
- Practice good housekeeping for safety and efficiency.
- Follow safety principles and policies, including safe operation of equipment.
- Comply with Belfor policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns.
- Attend Belfor-sponsored training courses.
Responsibilities
- Human Resources: Maintain confidentiality, coach, mentor, and motivate employees.
- Safety: Ensure all safety documentation is completed, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with laws and policies.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary courses or certification in Construction, Business/Project Management, or pursuing PMP certification preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in Construction, Restoration, Insurance (Residential, Commercial, Industrial) preferred.
- Sales experience, including contract upgrades/changes.
- Experience with Xactimate and XactAnalysis preferred.
- Knowledge of site safety plans, building codes, and regulatory agencies.
- Understanding of hazardous materials and environmental categories.
- Strong project management, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license per Belfor policy; willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Criminal Record Check required.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting of 5-40 lbs unassisted.
- Occasional lifting over 41 lbs with assistance.
- Access to tight spaces, working at heights, and sustained physical activity.
- Annual fit testing and safety certifications required.
