Alberta Health Services seeks a Project Manager to oversee IT Community Care Services projects focusing on Continuing Care and Seniors. Alberta Health Services is currently looking to add a Project Manager to the IT Community Care Services team to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of IT Community Care Services projects, with a focus on Continuing Care and Seniors. Reporting to the Director, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement that will contribute to the success of important portfolio projects and initiatives. There is flexibility regarding the location of this position within the Province of Alberta. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate may discuss location options with the hiring manager.
The Project Manager is a professional role that combines advanced project management skills with seasoned or significant expertise and change management knowledge. The position is responsible for the inception, design, implementation, and closure of small to medium-sized projects or a component of a major project within the IT Community Care Services portfolio. This position may work with Senior Project Managers, Directors, Executive Directors, Managers, Project Coordinators, Business Analysts, and IT Analysts.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of project management principles, basic PMO tools and methodologies. 3 to 5 years of project coordinator/management experience. Working knowledge of MS Project, MS Office suite, Visio, and JIRA. Working knowledge of AHS.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Able to maintain positive relationships as well as be self-directed and effective in team environments as required. Basic knowledge of systems principles, as well as theories and concepts of the healthcare business. Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines are essential. Proven accountability in managing large, complex projects. Proven project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, manage project plans, and escalate issues appropriately). Strong communication and follow-up skills. Proven issues management skills and experience. Actively and positively negotiate solutions in areas of conflict.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. Experience planning projects involving diverse clinical and operational stakeholders is an asset. Experience leading medium-sized project teams preferred. A bachelor’s degree plus working towards a project management designation is preferred. Healthcare system knowledge and experience are considered assets.
