Job summary

Arbutus Search Group is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects from concept to completion. You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate resources, and ensure delivery on time, scope, and budget.

The role offers a hands-on opportunity to own high-impact projects across diverse stakeholders within the organization. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years of PM experience on industrial/transportation projects, and PMP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC.
• 5+ years of proven project management experience.
• Experience managing complex industrial and transportation projects through both engineering/design and construction phases is considered a strong asset.
• PMP certification is required (however, candidates who are actively preparing to write the exam and can obtain certification within six months of hire will also be considered).
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Planning, execution, and resource management, including budgeting.
• Risk identification, mitigation, and proactive problem-solving.
• Strong decision-making, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the full project lifecycle from design through production, commissioning, and delivery.
• Developing detailed project plans covering scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budget requirements.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define project goals and establish success criteria.
• Leading and inspiring cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Assigning responsibilities, setting priorities, and ensuring team members have the tools and resources needed for success.
• Fostering a collaborative and positive team culture.
• Coordinating and allocating resources efficiently to support project outcomes.
• Monitoring and managing project budgets, change orders, contract compliance, and client approvals.
• Acting as the primary liaison between project teams and stakeholders.
• Providing consistent updates on project progress, milestones, and potential challenges.
• Facilitating clear communication within the team and with external partners.
• Ensuring all project deliverables are meeting quality standards and aligning with requirements.
• Implementing and enforcing best practices in project management.
• Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies proactively.
• Addressing issues promptly to prevent delays or deviations from project plans.
• Overseeing daily project activities and ensuring adherence to timelines.
• Taking corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
