Job description

Project Manager
Nova Scotia

Are you ready for a new career journey at Nova Scotia's largest credit union? Join our dedicated team at East Coast Credit Union, where commitment to community, member satisfaction, and financial excellence are the foundation of everything we do.

East Coast Credit Union is a community-driven financial institution committed to a better banking model. A credit union is like a bank in many ways, but with cooperative ownership and special focus on people, not profits. We redefine the definition of local and bring Nova Scotians from many regions together with honest lending, savings, and investment products. Be part of an organization committed to fostering growth and empowering individuals on our team and in our East Coast community.

East Coast Credit Union is looking for a Project Manager to join our team! The Project Manager leads projects from initiation through completion, ensuring effective planning, governance, risk management, reporting, and successful delivery. The role fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. As a champion of project management best practices, the Project Manager supports innovation, strengthens project delivery outcomes, and contributes to the Credit Union's strategic objectives and community initiatives.

We offer…
  • An outstanding culture and opportunity to join an engaged and community-focused team.
  • Competitive compensation ($83,503.62 – $99,192.95) and performance-based incentives.
  • Generous benefit package including a Flexible Health and Dental Plan (paid 100% by employer) and up to 9% contribution with employer match in the Defined Contribution Pension Plan.
  • Tuition reimbursement, training, and personal development.
  • Employee perks such as annual wellness credit; reduced rates on employee loans/mortgages and paid volunteer time.
You would…
  • Lead the full project lifecycle, including planning, initiation, execution, and closure, ensuring alignment with change management principles and consulting with the Change Management Committee as required.
  • Provide guidance to internal and external partners on defining project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, resources, roles, and responsibilities, including work breakdown structures, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate the identification and alignment of partner expectations, ensuring clear, effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive the successful delivery of projects that support the Credit Union’s strategic initiatives within agreed timelines and objectives.
  • Assist with Enterprise Intake meetings and maintain visibility into the project pipeline.
  • Maintain and update the corporate project roadmap, providing timely progress updates to the broader organization.
  • Leverage data and insights to inform leadership decisions regarding project performance, productivity, capacity, cost, quality, risk, and ROI.
  • Design and deliver training on project management methodologies and best practices for both groups and individuals.
  • Actively support and participate in community initiatives, representing the Credit Union at events, system conferences, and professional meetings.
You have…
  • Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in project management, ideally within a structured Project Management Office.
You are…
  • Knowledgeable in project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and change management practices, with proven ability to plan, execute, and manage complex projects and risks.
  • Skilled in developing dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to monitor progress and inform leadership decisions.
  • Experienced in leading, coaching, and guiding cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
Applications will be accepted until: September 17, 2026.

Please note that all offers of employment are conditional upon the acceptance of an Individual Fidelity Bond Application which includes a criminal check and a credit check.

We wish to thank applicants in advance; only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
