Job summary

Our Client, an established construction company serving the Lower Mainland, BC, seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from award to completion. This full-time, permanent role offers CAD 85,000–110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will develop schedules, manage budgets, coordinate multiple trades, review drawings, and ensure safety while minimizing disruption in occupied buildings.

Qualifications

• Experience managing BC Housing projects with consultant coordination, reporting and closeout.
• Strong TI and renovation experience coordinating multiple trades.
• Proven scheduling software proficiency to develop, update, and track construction schedules.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction, renovation, and TI projects from award to completion.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
• Review contracts, drawings, specs, and project docs to confirm scope.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, POs, and progress claims.
• Lead meetings, document decisions, and action items follow-up.
• Monitor progress and identify risks impacting cost, quality, schedule.
• Coordinate work in occupied buildings with minimal disruption.
• Ensure safe practices and project requirements with site supervision.
• Maintain up-to-date project records and documentation.
• Use PM software to monitor/report progress.
• Coordinate inspections, commissioning, closeout activities.
• Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders about progress, changes.
• Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions to keep on track.

About Our Client

Our client is an established construction company serving the Lower Mainland, BC, with experience delivering construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from contract award through completion. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a salary of $85,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects from contract award through completion.


• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.


• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation to confirm scope and requirements.


• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams across multiple trades.


• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, purchase orders, and progress claims.


• Lead project meetings, document decisions, and follow up on outstanding action items.


• Monitor project progress and identify risks or issues that may affect cost, quality, schedule, or completion.


• Coordinate work in occupied buildings, including site access, shutdowns, and measures to minimize disruption.


• Work closely with site supervisors to support safe work practices and project requirements.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.


• Use project management and scheduling software to monitor and report on project progress.


• Coordinate inspections, commissioning, deficiencies, and project closeout activities.


• Communicate regularly with clients and project stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and changes.


• Proactively identify potential challenges and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• PMP certification is required.


• Demonstrated experience managing BC Housing projects, including consultant coordination, reporting, and project closeout.


• Strong tenant improvement (TI) and renovation experience, including coordinating multiple trades and sequencing work.


• Proven experience using scheduling software to develop, update, and track construction schedules is mandatory.


• Experience with Building Pro is considered an asset.


• Strong understanding of construction budgets, scheduling, procurement, and cost control.


• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.


• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, change management, RFIs, and subcontractor coordination.


• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.


• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
