Job summary

Dryden Fibre Canada in Dryden, Ontario is seeking a Project Management Specialist to drive projects from charter to completion, aligning with the company's strategic road map.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with vendors and consultants, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver measurable results while upholding safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree and P.Eng certification required.
  • A PMP certification is an asset.
  • 10+ years in construction and project management, preferably industrial.
  • Proven PM skills with ownership and accountability to deliver commitments.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Safety-oriented and compliance-minded with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and long-term projects for the mill.
  • Translate leadership’s strategic vision into discrete, actionable projects.
  • Coordinate studies with external vendors, contractors and consultants.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams from chartering through implementation to results.

Job description

Project Management Specialist Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. The city of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Director - Innovation and Modernization Programs you will be responsible for driving projects to completion and ensuring progress on Dryden Fibre Canada’s strategic road map.

Examples include capital investments, cost savings projects, business process improvements, and strategic planning.

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and long-term future projects for the mill.
  • Use applied business judgment to translate leadership’s strategic vision into discrete and actionable projects.
  • Work with various external vendors, contractors and consultants to coordinate studies, explore project options and achieve results.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams of internal and external resources ensuring that the targeted impact and schedule are realized, from chartering through implementation to results.
  • Track performance, capture learning, and regularly communicate progress to senior leadership with recommendations aligned with strategic priorities.
Your Profile:
  • You hold an Engineering degree, and P. Eng certification.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction and project management, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to take ownership and accountability to drive and deliver on commitments.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
  • Excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software such as SAP, MS Office, and scheduling software.
