Groupe Marcelle is currently seeking a dynamic and committed candidate to fill a permanent, full-time position as a Project & Maintenance Engineer.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Operational Excellence, the Project & Maintenance Engineer will primarily focus on improving our production processes in order to ensure employee safety, product quality, increased operational efficiency, and cost reduction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE
Technical Project Management
  • Lead CAPEX and OPEX projects related to equipment, production lines, buildings, utilities, and technical systems
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Health & Safety, IT) and external partners (suppliers, system integrators, engineering firms)
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements and qualification/validation standards (protocols, associated procedures, etc.)
New Product Industrialization Trials (Fill Tests)
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute industrialization trials for new products on packaging lines
  • Validate product / packaging / equipment compatibility
  • Assess format parts requirements
  • Prepare reports and coordinate required adjustments with partner departments (R&D, Quality, Production)
Continuous Improvement / Quality Initiatives
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with partner departments
  • Draft and review quality system procedures related to production
  • Participate in non-conformance investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective solutions
  • Contribute to various process improvement projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • 3–5 years or more of experience in a similar role (experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment is a strong asset)
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, with strong ease using computerized production systems
  • Proficiency in technical drawing tools (AutoCAD or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of applicable manufacturing technologies (pneumatics, sensors/actuators, HMI/PLC, servo drives, mechanical maintenance, plant utility systems, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of LEAN processes and philosophy (Kanban, takt time, pull systems, etc.)
