Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Finance Controller/Coordinator for its CMS division in Prince George, BC. This role supports finance and administrative activities across highway and bridge projects, with hands-on training until end of 2026.

You will handle invoicing, budget control, contract management, and document control to ensure project success. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting/finance, strong Excel and MS Office skills, and solid communication in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Accounting & Finance experience.
• Survey or Construction Industry knowledge preferred.
• Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and Pivot Tables.
• Organized, efficient and proficient with MS Office suite.
• Positive, team-oriented and creative thinker who enjoys a challenge.
• Strong English writing and oral communication skills.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Open contracts/projects and monitor budgets at all levels.
• Coordinate budget control and financial oversight for CMS operations.
• Manage all requests from WSP Finance and invoicing processes.
• Create, review and control client invoices; manage contract terms and billing.
• Document control duties: data storage, project data tracking and filing.
• Coordinate with managers on PDP setup and project auditable information.
• Monitor project budgets and generate reports; provide invoicing backup and coverage.
• Support CMS group tasks: PPE inventory, fleet tracking, and eRISP updates.

Join a team that plays a critical role in delivering highway and bridge infrastructure projects across British Columbia. The role of Project Finance Controller/Coordinator is vital to the operation of the CMS group. You will be part of a dual team and filling a retirement position, with hands‑on training until the end of 2026. This role offers rewarding and interesting work experiences where you will be an important part of a team and responsible for the finance & administrative support to the CMS Construction Managers and staff.

Your Impact

Project Manager Role in Oracle (Finance side)

• Open Contracts/Projects
• Budget Control – all levels

Finance

• Manage all requests from WSP Finance

Invoicing

• Create, review and control all client invoices
• Contract & billing terms – setup/manage & control

Document Controller role for small size as & when Supervision teams

• System Administration for data storage, external software and tools.
• Project data tracking, collection and filing
• Field office administration
• Track agreements & coordinate renewals
• Track WSBC, Insurances & request updated as required
• Initiate New Vendors & reactivations

PDP (Project Development Plan)

• Creation and setup for new projects
• Coordination with Managers and maintenance of project auditable information
• Monitor project budgets and reports
• Invoicing Assist & Backup
• Coverage
• CMS Group support
  • PPE Inventory & distribution, purchasing & specifications
  • Fleet track and record all fleet vehicle & usages
  • eRISP Update CMS projects, contracts, personnel profiles
  • Survey support
  • Submit eRISP as needed
  • Gain knowledge in the operations and services provided by the CMS Department as well as various other WSP departments.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $69,700 - $92,300
MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $62,900 - $83,600
