Job summary

Paramount Resources Ltd. is seeking a Facilities Engineering Student to join the Facilities/Project Engineering team in Calgary for a 4-month term beginning in May 2027. The position is based in-person in our downtown Calgary office, with occasional field visits within Alberta.

You will work under a Senior Engineer, gaining exposure to scope development, design reviews, cost estimating, scheduling, and commissioning, while developing project management fundamentals for facilities and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Canadian engineering program.
• Available for full 4-month term starting May 2027.
• Willing to relocate to Calgary for the term.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.

About this Opportunity

We are looking for a Facilities Engineering Student to work on the Facilities/Project Engineering team for a 4-month term beginning in May 2027. This position will be based in-person, in our downtown Calgary office, with the potential for occasional Field visits within Alberta.

What you’ll be doing

• You will be exposed to typical engineering responsibilities in a Facilities/Project Engineering role, including project scope development, design reviews, cost estimating, project schedule management, field construction, and commissioning and start-up.
• You will be supervised and mentored by a Senior Engineer within the group for your work term
• You will learn about project management principles for facilities and pipeline design and construction
• You will assist Project Engineers with various project related activities such as following up with action items, coordinating activities between different teams, helping with cost tracking and reporting, and completing documentation for project close outs

Who you are

• You are currently enrolled in a Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Oil and Gas, Civil or similar engineering program accredited for professional designation in Canada
• You are someone with a desire for career development that includes oil and gas experience (previous experience in oil and gas, especially field experience, would be considered an asset)
• You are able to work effectively in a team environment

To be eligible for a Paramount Resources student position, you must meet the following requirements

• You are currently enrolled at one of the following post‑secondary institutions: University of Calgary, University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan – Queens, or any other Canadian post‑secondary with an accredited Engineering Program
• You are available to work the full duration of the outlined work term
• You are currently residing in Calgary or willing to relocate for your work term

• You are legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction, by way of one of the following:
  • Canadian Citizenship
  • Permanent Residency
  • Valid work permit
