Job summary

Paramount Resources Ltd. is seeking a Drilling/Completions Summer Student for a 4-month term commencing in May 2027.

The role is based in-person at our downtown Calgary office, with supervised travel to field locations in Alberta. You will learn about Drilling and/or Completions in the Oil & Gas industry, be mentored by a Senior Engineer, and perform tasks such as gathering well-file data, reviewing performance, and assisting with execution programs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of an Engineering or relevant program.
• Currently enrolled at the University of Calgary, Queens University, University of Saskatchewan, or the University of Alberta.
• Able to work effectively in a team and value feedback as a learning tool.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from well files and databases.
• Offset review of performance and adjacent wells from other operators.
• Assist senior engineers with building execution programs.
• Exposure to planning, designing, and executing operations within Drilling and Completions.

About this opportunity:

We are looking for a Drilling/Completions Summer Student for a 4-month term commencing in May 2027.

This position will be based in-person, in our downtown Calgary office. Supervised travel to Field locations in Alberta may be required.

What you’ll be doing:

• You will learn about Drilling and/or Completions within the Oil & Gas industry
• You will be supervised and mentored by a Senior Engineer within the group for your work term
• Specific job functions may include:
• Gathering and compiling information from well files
• Offset review of performance and adjacent wells from other operators within the area Paramount is working
• Assisting senior engineers with building execution programs
• You will be exposed to planning, designing, and how to execute operations within the Drilling and Completions group.

Who you are:

• You are currently enrolled in your 2 nd , 3 rd or 4 th year of an Engineering or relevant program
• You are currently enrolled at the University of Calgary, Queens University, University of Saskatchewan, or the University of Alberta
• You are able to work effectively in a team environment
• You are someone who values feedback as a learning tool
• You are motivated, hard‑working and determined to achieve superior results
• You are focused and have a keen attention to detail
• Previous oil and gas experience is not required, however it is considered an asset

To be eligible for a Paramount Resources student position, you must meet the following requirements:

• You are currently enrolled in a post‑secondary institution
• You are available to work the full duration of the work term
• You are currently residing in Calgary or willing to relocate for your work term
• You are legally entitled to work in Canada, without restriction by way of one of the following:
• Canadian Citizenship
• Permanent Residency
• Valid work permit
