Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Environmental Project Engineer to join its collaborative team in Calgary. This individual will manage environmental investigation and remediation projects, deliver technically excellent services, prepare technical proposals and reports, conduct environmental research and analyses, supervise field investigations, and manage staff. The role offers opportunities to develop project management and staff management skills, interact with clients, and work on diverse projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects;
• Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;
• Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings;
• Manage and deliver multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines;
• Organize, write, and edit proposals, reports, and documents;
• Identify and pursue new clients, develop additional work within existing projects, and attend business development meetings;
• Provide oversight and management of junior staff, including coaching, training, and motivation; participate in hiring;
• Coordinate work across office locations and disciplines as needed;
• Interface professionally with clients, contractors, staff, and project personnel;
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred;
• PE certification;
• 6+ years related experience;
• Proficiency in environmental due diligence;
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and software;
• Hazwoper training and certifications;
• Understanding of regulatory requirements;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Attention to detail and analytical skills;
• Ability to work independently and in teams;
• Ability to manage multiple projects and staff;
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed;
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
