This role involves designing drainage systems and managing projects for land development, requiring strong engineering skills and communication abilities. The position is primarily on-site three times a week.
Job Description
Insight Global is in search of a Stormwater Management Project Engineer for a leading civil engineering client in Peterborough for projects in their Land Development Engineering Department. This role requires 3x/week on site Peterborough. Your opportunity as a Project Engineer is to join our client's Stormwater Management team designing healthy, clean and safe drainage systems. From cutting-edge Low Impact Development systems to large stormwater management infrastructure, you will play an integral role in their land development services, building on a strong foundation of partnership to provide the best solutions for their clients. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of stormwater management systems for land development projects ranging from small scale site plans to multi-phase subdivisions. - Prepare design reports in accordance with municipal and provincial guidelines for stormwater management. - Liaise with clients, municipalities and approval agencies to address stormwater management requirements. - Prepare and/or coordinate proposals for stormwater management services. - Provide Technical Peer Review services to neighboring municipalities. - Support development agreements and approvals, construction specifications and tender documents for stormwater management projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO). - Minimum 5 years of Civil/Stormwater Management Engineering experience. - Strong competency in stormwater management design, including quantity control, quality control and low impact development. - Experienced in preparing stormwater management reports - Familiar with the approvals process from Municipalities, Conservation Authorities and Provincial Agencies in Ontario. - Skilled in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as Visual OTTHYMO, EPA SWMM and HY-8. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. - Competent in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D. - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills in technical and commercial contexts.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with the ESRI ArcMap Geographic Information System (GIS) software package for the development of hydrology studies and floodplain maps. - Experience as Expert Witness for Ontario Land Tribunal Hearings.
