The individualwilllead and conductwater and wastewater systemanalysistoalign ourmunicipal infrastructureplanning with City’s growth and housing strategies.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineeringand planningofwater, wastewater and stormwater systems.
Working knowledge of modeling tools (i.e.WaterCAD(OpenFLows), InfoWorks,ArcGIS, and/ orotherpipe flow related modelingtools) fordesign,andcollection/ distributionsystem wide capacity assessment.
Knowledge of the principles of organization, supervision and administration and the ability to effectively apply these principles.
Demonstrated skill in project management, conducting presentations,communicating,and selling ideas and in leading group discussion.
Intermediate skill in MSWord, Excel and Access and the ability to develop expertise in the use of specialized software foranalyses, data management, and communications.
Ability to express ideas effectively, in oral and written form, with particular emphasis being placed on the ability to prepareand presentcomprehensive reports to management,City Council,and the public.
Ability to plan and organize work assignments and co-ordinate the activities of others.
Ability to promote and adhere to the principles of teamworkincludingparticipation, shared responsibility, open communication, trust and mutual support and the establishment of continuing effective working relations with superiors, subordinates, members of City Council, contractors,suppliers,and thepublic.
Ability to work independently and develop initiatives and programs in response to the needs of theBranchas well as corporate policies and goals.
Ability to carry out standard engineering computations.
Knowledge of the general rules and regulations of the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act as they apply to this position and the ability to develop and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
A University degreein Engineering, such as Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Systems,with a minimum of four yearsrelated engineering experience in the field of municipal water, wastewater, drainage and solid waste infrastructure.
Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
A two (2) year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, or WaterResources Technology with a minimum of five (5) years experience with water, wastewater and/or drainageinfrastructure.
Must be registered with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (TPS) as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) or be eligible to obtain during probation period.
Must posses a valid Class Five (5) driver’s license and have a vehicle available for work usage. (A kilometre reimbursement is provided.)
