Job summary

CIMA+ in Ontario seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to lead municipal water and wastewater design efforts, coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will mentor junior staff, help develop client relationships, and support proposals and business development in a hybrid work environment. Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• 8 years of relevant municipal water/wastewater project experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and client coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support the project management and delivery of preliminary and detailed designs for municipal water and wastewater servicing projects
• Lead technical work packages on multidisciplinary projects
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
• Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating work with technical teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, health and safety, and risk management requirements
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks, and performance metrics
• Assisting with timely preparation of invoices and supporting project financial tracking
• Proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff and designers
• Supporting business development activities, including preparing technical components for proposals and project pursuits

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering from an accredited university
• 8 years of relevant technical and project experience within consulting, specifically in municipal water/wastewater systems (distribution, conveyance, treatment plants, pumping stations, etc.)
• Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and/or other provinces
• Strong technical background in water and wastewater systems, with experience across various project phases (conceptual design, pre-design, detailed design, and construction administration)
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience in client coordination
• Commitment to delivering innovative, practical, and technically sound solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently while meeting project deadlines
