Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects in Ontario. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations, project objectives and standards, while promoting safety culture and care for colleagues.

This role offers hybrid work across Markham, Mississauga, Kitchener or London offices, with strong opportunities for career growth into project management or technical leadership within our Infrastructure team.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 8 years of relevant technical and project experience within consulting, municipal water/wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project management and delivery of preliminary and detailed designs for municipal water and wastewater servicing projects.
  • Lead technical work packages on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating work with technical teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, health and safety, and risk management requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Assisting with timely preparation of invoices and supporting project financial tracking.
  • Proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff and designers.
  • Supporting business development activities, including preparing technical components for proposals and project pursuits

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join and grow with our Municipal Water Infrastructure team. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality water and wastewater projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to help meet client expectations, project objectives, and organizational standards. You will also contribute to promoting our strong safety culture and commitment to caring for one another.

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8 years of relevant technical and project experience within consulting, specifically in municipal water/wastewater systems (distribution, conveyance, treatment plants, pumping stations, etc.)
  • Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and/or other provinces
  • Strong technical background in water and wastewater systems, with experience across various project phases (conceptual design, pre-design, detailed design, and construction administration)
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience in client coordination
  • Commitment to delivering innovative, practical, and technically sound solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently while meeting project deadlines
