Job summary

IPEX in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a Project Engineer to support the project engineering team across locations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering; Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical preferred.
• P.Eng designation in progress acceptable or pursued.
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading internal and external teams.
• Familiar with extrusion and plastic molding equipment; read drawings.
• Proficient with CAD systems and 3D perception.

Job Summary

This role will report directly to the Regional Project Engineering Manager and support the project engineering team across IPEX Locations. This role requires the incumbent to have experiences in project execution, technical support, documentation and reporting, coordination, risk management, and compliance. The work will be in both the plants and corporate office with close collaboration across departments such as operations, maintenance, quality control, health and safety, logistics, etc.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, execution of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, timeline, and quality standards.


• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including engineering design, analysis, and troubleshooting.


• Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, reports, and progress updates.


• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project implementation and effective communication.


• Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor project performance against established objectives.


• Ensure project compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical engineering


• Has obtained or working towards obtaining a P. Eng designation


• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment or a related industrial setting


• Skilled in managing internal and external teams


• Knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding equipment is an asset, with ability to analyze mechanical and electrical drawings for machinery


• Knowledge of computers, AutoCAD & CAD systems and 3D perception


• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills


• Proven ability to lead and influence both internal and external project team


• Adaptable, highly motivated and continuous learner, with strong analytical and problem solving abilities


• General knowledge of mechanical concepts, pneumatics, and hydraulics


• Holds a valid driver’s license and able to travel within Ontario

The compensation for this position is between $70,800 and $88,500 CAN annually, based on experience and qualifications.
