Qualifications

  • Engineering degree from a recognized tertiary institute.
  • 4–7 years of mining and minerals studies and/or projects.
  • Exposure to scheduling, planning, cost control, estimating and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • EPCM/EPC experience including supervision of contractors/field personnel preferred but not essential.
  • Strong safety focus and zero-harm mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage activities to deliver the project on time, on budget, and per objectives.
  • Ensure the project runs according to plans with skilled staff available when needed.
  • Manage work per the project schedule and budget.
  • Track scope changes and trends; manage change processes and costs.
  • Maintain professional relationships with client personnel.
  • Support the study manager and supervise engineering disciplines to meet KPIs.
  • Document progress using registers, RFIs, action lists and project controls.

Project Engineer - Vancouver

Our team is growing and we are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Vancouver office. As part of our Studies team, you'll work closely with experienced Study Managers, gaining exposure to multidisciplinary study delivery while developing the skills and experience to progress your career within the business.

About the role
  • Effectively manage activities to ensure the successful delivery of the project on time, to budget and in accordance with Ausenco’s objectives.
  • Ensure that the project runs according to project plans with appropriately skilled staff are available at the required times to complete tasks.
  • Manage the work in accordance the project schedule and the project budget.
  • Tracking and managing effectively the scope changes and trends – actively identify quantity, cost and time trends and management of the change process.
  • Maintain a professional and functional relationship with client personnel.
  • Unwavering dedication to safety and proven ability to achieve deadlines
  • Supporting the study manager throughout the study as needed.
  • Supervising the engineering disciplines to ensure alignment with the overall project design, objective and KPIs.
  • Documenting the tracking project progress and outcomes; including the decision register, change register, RFI log, action list, and related project controls
About you:
  • Engineering degree from a recognized tertiary institute.
  • Ideally 4-7 years of experience working in mining and minerals studies and/or projects.
  • Substantial exposure to project scheduling, planning, cost control, estimating and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • EPCM/EPC experience including supervision of contractors and field personnel will be looked upon favorably but not essential.
  • Strong safety focus with demonstrated evidence of actively promoting and sustaining a zero-harm environment.

Salary range:$105,000 – $120,000 annually.

Expected Salary:Variation in salary isdeterminedby factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
