Job summary

Stantec seeks a Project Director for Buildings to lead major projects across Quebec and North America. The role supports large, complex building projects and collaborates with major-project teams from Montréal, Laval, or Longueuil offices.

You will direct multidisciplinary teams, oversee schedules and budgets, and provide technical leadership to ensure feasibility, compliance, and value across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential.
• 15+ years of experience in buildings project management or project director roles.

Project Director, Buildings

Stantec is hiring a Major Projects Director for its Buildings team. The role supports large, complex building projects across Quebec and works with major-project teams throughout North America. The position is based in the Montréal, Laval, or Longueuil office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full project life cycle, including design, planning, delivery, administration, and closeout.
• Lead multidisciplinary project management, project controls, and design teams.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and profitability.
• Provide technical leadership and review project deliverables for feasibility, compliance, and consistency.
• Manage project risks, contracts, and commercial issues; support client and subcontractor negotiations.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and risk, finance, insurance, and legal teams.
• Coach team members and support business development activities.

Qualifications

• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• More than 15 years of experience as a building project manager or project director in consulting engineering.
• Strong technical and contractual knowledge and understanding of construction and project delivery methods, including design-build, P3, and IPD.
• Experience managing large, complex projects and knowledge of scheduling, project controls, and document management.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and French.
