Health Commons Solutions Lab is identifying creative solutions to complex problems that require focused collaboration from health and social sectors. We are a team of creative and driven professionals from health, social, public health and design sectors. We bring together experts to design and test new solutions, then work with service providers and funders to deploy and scale those solutions to meet population needs.

In this role you will :

  • Support project teams in development of knowledge products in all phases of the project lifecycle including initial scoping, research, product design and development, dissemination, testing and evaluation, applying sound judgment to prioritize and consult with project leads as needed.
  • Support project teams with project administration including meeting logistics, scheduling and travel, preparing agendas, tracking action items, coordinating material for distribution and recording minutes with accuracy and speed.
  • Participate in project meetings to document insights and actions, and coordinate project communications and information sharing.
  • Maintain internal tools to track partner activities and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies with key partners, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Develop stellar quality written communications material for internal and external audiences.
  • Create, edit and proofread correspondence on behalf of the team including reports, letters, responses, documentation, etc. to support high quality product development.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on assigned deliverables and activities at internal and external meetings.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.

Job Requirements : Mandatory :

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. health, community development, social sciences or related field) or demonstrated equivalent working or lived experience in this role.
  • At least 2 years of recent project coordination experience, preferably in a health or social care or related setting.

Preferred :

  • Experience using platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, SquareSpace, WordPress, and Slack.

Skills and Knowledge :

  • Tech savvy with advanced computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive / SharePoint, Slack and social media platforms.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of an organization including in a hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with health equity concepts including social determinants of health, anti-oppressive principles and awareness of cultural safety is required.
  • Superior organizational skills and sound judgement to manage competing priorities independently and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to write and edit material for accuracy and clarity.
  • Possesses a high level of personal and shared accountability and proven capability to anticipate opportunities and challenges.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
