Job summary

City of Kamloops is seeking a permanent, full-time Project Coordinator – Capital Projects to help turn blueprints into real-world infrastructure—roads, water, and public spaces—that benefit thousands daily.

The successful candidate will have a two-year Civil Engineering Technology diploma (or equivalent), be eligible for ASTTBC certification, at least five years in a project coordination or design role for public infrastructure, plus two years in contract administration and a valid BC driver’s

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist with ASTTBC or equivalent.
• Five years as a project coordinator overseeing public infrastructure or engineering role overseeing design of public infrastructure.
• Two years’ experience in contract administration under supervision of a Project Manager.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate capital projects including roads, water, and public spaces from design to completion.
• Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contractors; manage contracts and documentation.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

1. Completion of a two-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
2. Eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) or equivalent.
3. Minimum of five years' previous experience in a project coordinator role overseeing the construction of public infrastructure including waterworks, sewerage, roads, and structures. OR Minimum of five years' previous experience in an engineering role overseeing the design of public infrastructure including waterworks, sewerage, roads, and structures.
4. Minimum of two years’ previous experience in contract administration under the supervision of a Project Manager.
5. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
