Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator in Toronto to support the project management team across cost, schedule, safety, quality, planning and communication.

You will work with Aecon staff, vendors and trades to keep plans on track and ensure timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of civil construction experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to travel across provinces.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree or diploma or equivalent training and experience.
  • 3–5 years of combined civil construction experience in a project execution role.
  • Must be open to rotational work as required.
  • Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
  • Strong communication skills—oral and written.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and timelines.
  • Ability to work with others as a team with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods.
  • Position requires travel throughout all provinces and territories.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Candidates with previous Coop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle site administration activities and track hours, tickets, consumables and KPIs.
  • Create project Purchase Order requisitions for approval and submit timely.
  • Communicate plans, risks, actions and updates to Aecon staff, vendors and trades.
  • Field queries from external stakeholders and coordinate responses.
  • Produce Daily Construction Reports for approval and submission.
  • Review monthly quantities for consultant/owner approval and reconcile progress estimates.
  • Develop understanding of budgets, cost reports and revenue forecasts at project level.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule as required.
  • Lead by example to ensure safety and quality control plans are followed.
  • Lead and participate in safety toolbox talks.

What Is The Opportunity?

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager or designate, the Project Coordinator plays an essential role in project execution. This dynamic role is focused on working within the project management team in overall project performance including cost, schedule, safety, quality, planning and communication.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Site administration activities, including tracking employees’ hours, subtrade tickets, consumables, KPIs etc.
  • Creating project Purchase Order requisitions for approval, ensuring accuracy and timely submittal.
  • Communicating plans, actions, risks, issues and updates with key stakeholders such as Aecon employees, vendors, foremen, trades, superintendents, subcontractors.
  • Fielding queries from external stakeholders and coordinating responses.
  • Producing Daily Construction Report for approval & submission.
  • Reviewing monthly quantities for approval by Consultant/Owner for contract progress estimates and reconciling subcontractor & materials progress estimates.
  • Developing an understanding of budgets, cost reports & revenue forecasts at the project level.
  • Developing and maintaining a project schedule as required by the Project/ Construction Manager.
  • Leading by example ensuring Aecon’s corporate health and safety program and quality control plans are adhered to.
  • Leading and contributing to safety toolbox talks.
What You Bring To The Team:

The expected pay range for this role is: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
