Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Project Controls Analyst in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to a Manager Project Controls, you will provide Project Controls cost management expertise, consulting with project team members on assigned projects. With your experience and knowledge of project controls processes and tools, you will deliver cost control, change management, forecasting, and reporting with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.

A typical day:

• Drive adherence to safety compliance; develop, maintain, and continuously improve all aspects of cost control, forecasting, change management, and reporting for successful project delivery.
• Support Quality Control by completing PC deliverables with timeliness and accuracy to meet expected outcomes.
• Raise deviations to PC Standards & Procedures and ensure they are signed off by the document owner and approver.
• Calculate incurred costs and develop/maintain the incurred cost forecast (ICF).
• Understand the project baseline and control budget, including scope definition, estimating costs, workforce hours, schedule dates, durations, and execution strategies to facilitate immediate decisions on project changes.
• Alert the Project Controls Manager of potential or actual deviations from the control budget early to enable mitigation or recovery measures.
• Collaborate with functional counterparts like PC Planning/Scheduling, Estimating, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, and Project Governance to ensure necessary inputs are considered to achieve project goals.
• Execute the PC Closeout plan, complete and obtain approval for the final Closeout report, and provide benchmarking data as per plan.

Successful candidates will have:

• 7-10 years of Project Controls experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent.
• Experience in Planning/Scheduling, project management of change, field progress systems, and contractor performance management in major projects.
• Knowledge of estimate development, cost processes and tools; SAP and ECOSYS experience is an asset.
• Previous Oilsands or Oil & Gas experience with an Owner or EPC organization is an asset.
