The Project and Capability Manager leads the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational priorities, initiatives, and projects across the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Organizational Strategy and Performance (or delegate), the role works across internal teams, operational units, external partners, and communities to help translate organizational priorities into structured, measurable, and deliverable outcomes.
This role plays a key part in supporting the stand‑up and evolution of the organization by coordinating organizational priorities, projects, and implementation activities while establishing governance, reporting, and organizational capability. Projects may include both internal organizational initiatives and external‑facing initiatives involving operational units, communities, government partners, or other public safety stakeholders.
Operating in a developing, high‑profile, and fast‑moving environment, the role requires strong organizational capability, structured thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across complex stakeholder and operational environments. The role operates within an evolving organizational environment involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, operational dependencies, and significant complexity associated with standing up a new provincial police service.
The role contributes directly to organizational effectiveness by helping ensure initiatives are coordinated, aligned, measurable, and capable of being successfully implemented within operational realities.
