We are seeking a Project Accountant to support the Accounting Department by handling day-to-day financial transactions, requiring strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

What You Will Do:

As Project Accountant, you’ll support the financial operations of Ironclad Developments by ensuring accurate project accounting and timely reporting. Key responsibilities include:

•Project AccountingManage contract-related payables, track contract documents, and ensure accurate job cost coding and billing compliance.

•Collaboration & CommunicationWork with various departments on budget updates and forecasts. Communicate with project managers on contract changes, approvals, and payables.

•Financial ReportingPrepare operating reports and variance analyses for senior leadership. Recommend budget reductions using benchmarking data.

•Month-End & ComplianceMeet month-end deadlines, maintain budget documentation, and ensure adherence to internal policies.

•Process ImprovementResolve discrepancies, review procedures, and recommend process and control improvements to boost efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary education in Finance and Accounting
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and a problem solver
• Experience with cost accounting and understanding of project management/accounting best practices, especially in construction
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently with high accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Progression towards CPA designation
• Proficiency with ERPs; knowledge of Viewpoint Vista is an asset
