Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 5+ years of project accounting experience in construction, real estate, or project-based environments.
• Strong budgeting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large datasets.
• Experience with ERP/project accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update project budgets and monitor variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with project teams.
• Perform full-cycle project accounting including month-end close and reconciliations.
• Review project costs, WIP, commitments, and vendor expenditures for budget compliance.
• Prepare financing draw packages and coordinate with lenders and consultants.
• Reconcile project funding, cash activity, and related transactions.
• Assist invoice processing, PO reviews, and vendor payments.
• Provide financial analysis and project reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting.

About the Role

Reporting to the finance leadership team, you will oversee the financial management of multiple development projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and project accounting throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and operations teams.

What You\'ll Do

• Maintain and update project budgets while monitoring actual and forecasted variances
• Partner with project and construction teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Perform full-cycle project accounting, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Review project costs, work-in-progress, commitments, and vendor expenditures to ensure accuracy and budget compliance
• Prepare construction financing draw packages and coordinate with lenders and external consultants throughout the funding process
• Reconcile project funding, cash activity, and construction-related financial transactions
• Support invoice processing, purchase order reviews, and vendor payment coordination
• Provide financial analysis, project reports, and account reconciliations to internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and ensure accurate project reporting

What You\'ll Bring

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• 5+ years of project accounting experience, ideally within construction, real estate, or a project-based environment
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manage large datasets
• Experience using ERP or project accounting software is considered an asset
