Job summary

Recruiting In Motion - Eastern Ontario is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to join the growing finance team. The role centers on leading project financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and job costing reporting across multiple developments in Toronto and surrounding areas.

You will partner with Project Managers, oversee month-end closes, develop financial models and dashboards, manage a construction accounting team, and drive improvements in processes and reporting while ensuring CPA

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation is required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in management accounting, project finance, costing or financial analysis.
• People management experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive project financial performance by partnering with Project Managers and site teams to establish budgets, oversee forecasting and job costing reporting, manage change orders and cost reallocations, and monitor financial performance across multiple active developments.
• Lead project costing and financial analysis, including cost-sharing analyses, tender analysis, project cost structures, variance analysis, and identification of cost trends and root causes, providing actionable recommendations to improve project performance.
• Serve as a key finance business partner to senior construction and finance leadership, providing financial insight and recommendations on budgets, forecasts, project risks, costs, and commercial decisions.
• Lead management reporting and project financial controls, including month-end reporting, reconciliations, progress draws, funding packages, payment approvals, holdbacks, construction insurance, and project close-outs.
• Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting by developing financial models, dashboards, cost trackers, and reporting tools while streamlining construction accounting, cost management, invoicing, and project reporting processes.
• Lead and develop the construction accounting team, providing coaching and oversight to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely financial deliverables while supporting project teams in strengthening financial processes and controls.]

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
