• Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Indigenous studies, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related health/social sciences field is preferred.
• A combination of formal education, lived experience, and/or community-based expertise will be considered.
• Minimum of three years of directly related experience.
• Experience with First Nations, Inuit, Métis communities and partners required.
• Experience supporting Indigenous-led research, community engagement, program delivery, or knowledge mobilization required.
• Familiarity with REDCap or other data capture tools is preferred.
• Must complete CORE and PHIA training; training on project tools as required.
• Must clear a Child Abuse Registry Check.

Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Completion of a Community College program in a related discipline is required.
• Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Indigenous studies, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related health/social sciences field is preferred.
• A combination of formal education, lived experience, and/or community-based expertise will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of three years of directly related experience required.
• Experience working in partnership with First Nations, Inuit, and/or Métis communities, organizations, governments, or service providers is required.
• Experience supporting Indigenous-led research, community engagement, program delivery, or knowledge mobilization initiatives is required.
• Knowledge of Indigenous data sovereignty principles, including OCAP®, and distinctions-based approaches to engagement and research is considered an asset.
• Experience collaborating with a multi-person team in an online or hybrid work environment strongly preferred.
• Experience with community-based organizations supporting children and families preferred.
• Familiarity with REDCap or other electronic data capture tools preferred.
• Experience with project budget coordination and/or financial processing preferred.
• Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) is an asset.
• Experience working with websites or eHealth-related platforms preferred.
• A combination of formal education, lived experience, and/or community-based expertise will be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse teams and communities is required.
• Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and relationship-centred approaches to working with Indigenous communities is required.
• Ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous partners, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community organizations, and diverse stakeholders is required.
• Knowledge of Indigenous health and wellness priorities, including strengths-based and self-determination approaches, is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills required.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision required.
• Proficiency in using online communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, OSF, Slack, Google Docs) required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.

OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Commitment to advancing reconciliation and supporting Indigenous-led approaches to research, learning, and community wellness.
• Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action and their relevance to health, research, and community engagement is an asset.
• Must complete research ethics training (CORE) and personal health information training (PHIA).
• Must complete specialized research tools training as required by the project.
• Must successfully clear a Child Abuse Registry Check.
