Job summary

H2O Innovation seeks a Senior Programmer in Automation and Controls to join our Ramsey, MN team on a permanent full-time basis. You will design and program PLCs and HMIs, develop control logic in Structured Text, and support clients with documentation and deployment of automated systems.

The role requires at least five years in a similar position, proficiency with PLC software, and strong problem-solving skills. We offer hybrid working hours and a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in PLC programming software.
• Experience developing, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC programs using Structured Text (ST).
• Ability to write clear technical documents.

• Diagnose and resolve problems.
• Thorough understanding of hardware and software upgrade methods for automated systems.

Responsibilities

The Day-to-Day

• Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and user graphic interfaces (HMI);
• Design and develop control system logic using Structured Text (ST);
• Participate in analyzing user needs and developing programming plans;
• Design automated systems through technical drawings and schematics;
• Conduct testing and market deployment of programmed installations at our clients' sites;
• Assist our clients by creating user guides, technical manuals, and other tools to facilitate the understanding of automated systems;
• Perform upgrades and troubleshoot automated systems as needed.
