Job summary

FOP CONSULTANTS is seeking a programmer to deliver on mandates, coding, testing and deploying programs per specifications, while maintaining existing applications and ensuring coding standards. The role involves collaboration with development, operations, and QA teams, with active participation in Agile ceremonies.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in IT, strong programming experience, and familiarity with Agile frameworks.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in computer science or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in information technology.
• 8 to 15 years of experience as a Programmer.
• Experience with one or more programming languages and development environments.
• Experience with Scrum, Kanban, Lean, DSDM, SAFe, Nexus.
• Hold one of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) or Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Developer.
• Hold Agile certifications (asset): A-CSM, PSM II, CSP-SM, SAFe ASM, etc.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence.
• Experience in Canadian public or private organizations.
• Language: French and English

POSITION DESCRIPTION

FOP CONSULTANTS is looking for a programmer motivated to deliver on mandates. The main assignments would be to code, test and deploy programs that comply with technical specifications; take part in maintaining and improving existing applications; ensure compliance with current programming standards; and collaborate with development and operations teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Code, test and deploy programs according to technical specifications.
• Take part in the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing applications.
• Ensure compliance with programming standards and best practices.
• Diagnose and fix reported defects.
• Document programs and the changes made.
• Collaborate with development, operations and quality assurance teams.
• Take part in the Agile team’s activities (planning, follow-up, retrospectives).

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• University or college degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in information technology.
• Eight (08) to fifteen (15) years of experience as a Programmer.
• Experience with one or more programming languages and development environments.
• Experience with one of the following frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, Lean, DSDM, SAFe, Nexus.
• Hold one of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Developer.
• Hold one of the following Agile certifications (an asset): A-CSM, PSM II, CSP-SM, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (ASM) etc.
