Purpose
Contributes to the success of the Client Engineering team in Canada by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives that support the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Provide technical analyses and recommendations for new and existing solutions, focusing on creating robust, reusable solutions.
- Develop ETL solutions using TALEND ETL tools.
- Assess current system architecture and collaborate with technical staff to recommend improvements, enhancing stability and reducing vulnerabilities.
- Create and maintain documentation such as architectural diagrams and best practices.
- Manage day-to-day project efforts, review requirements, estimate work efforts, and develop design documents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the business unit and with partners.
- Provide expert advice to business and IT teams.
- Operationalize technical processes, develop, and maintain technology systems.
- Review and approve production deployments and resolve issues when problems occur.
- Contribute effectively in Agile environments, understanding methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Ensure operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk controls are adhered to.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years as a DataStage Developer or related field.
- 3+ years experience with Parallel jobs in DataStage, using stages like Join, Merge, Lookup, etc.
- 3+ years experience with DataStage Manager, Designer, Administrator, and Director.
- Experience with Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, Hive, Beeline, EDL.
- Expertise in UNIX shell scripting (K-shell) for automation and scheduling DataStage jobs.
- Proficient in designing Server jobs with various stages.
- Experience integrating data sources like DB2-UDB, PL/SQL, Hadoop.
- Knowledge of Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for DataStage jobs and production issues.
- Experience in database programming for Data Warehouses and dimensional modeling.
- Proficiency in data modeling and reverse engineering tools such as Erwin and MS Visio.
