The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders including business partners and external service providers in Cheque Processing engineering, business analysis, architecture, and infrastructure support. The goal is to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions utilizing the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver complex applications focusing on accuracy, performance, security, and user experience, primarily using Mainframe technologies such as Cobol.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive strategy for transforming and modernizing market risk management platforms with new technologies.
- Participate in designing and implementing solutions that address complex business problems.
- Utilize diverse technologies to develop new systems or enhance existing ones, ensuring seamless integration from end to end.
- Ensure delivery quality by building automated testing and regression suites, following DevOps principles.
- Adapt to evolving environments with flexibility.
- Maintain broad and deep knowledge of Cheque domain, from front-end banking systems to back-end processes supporting Cheque and EFT payments.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of development experience in Cobol, CA7, JCL.
- 5+ years of experience with Mainframe DB2 and MVS.
- 3+ years of Cheque domain experience.
- 2+ years of experience with Connect Direct and SDSF.
- Experience working in Windows environments.
- Nice to have: SQL knowledge, object-oriented development, Java experience, DevOps familiarity.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to simplify technical details and influence stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
