Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking motivated Personal Trainers to deliver private and semi-private coaching at recreation centres city-wide. You will assess clients, create individualized training plans and monitor progress while promoting safety and inclusion.

Prior fitness education and current certifications are required, with availability for evenings and weekends. Typical duties include client outreach within 48 hours of assignment, completing timesheets, and delivering group fitness programs

Qualifications

• Completed or in progress degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or completed diploma in Personal Training.
• Certifications: CEP, CPT, CSCS or CPFT.
• Customer service experience and professional demeanor.
• Group fitness/exercise certifications are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide private (1 on 1) personal training sessions to clients.
• Provide semi-private training sessions (2-4 individuals) to clients.
• Lead fitness orientation programs for adults and Youth In Action for youth 12-15.
• Determine clients' exercise needs through consultations and assessments.
• Develop, document and implement individualized exercise plans.
• Educate and coach clients on safe and effective exercise.
• Monitor, track and assess client progress and adapt programs.
• Demonstrate safety in all planning and delivery of programs.
