Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a Program Manager, Educational Assistants, to attract, retain and provide professional development to central and school-based Educational Assistants.

Reporting to the Executive Superintendent of Learning Support, the role will oversee both central itinerant and school-based staff, develop program content and guidelines, and build strong community partnerships to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Developmental Service Worker or Child & Youth Care with related experience.
• 5–6 years as an Educational Assistant, with 1–2 years in supervision.
• Strong managerial and leadership capabilities for coaching and evaluating staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google applications; able to use data systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, hire, assign cases and manage performance for central itinerant EAs.
• Research best practices and service models to support system needs.
• Develop annual professional development plans for school-based and itinerant EAs.
• Prepare reports and draft district communications.
• Collaborate with schools and partners through classroom observations and follow-ups.
